Marie for New London

Marie believes in New London and demonstrates that
belief through consistent involvement in the community.
She has two children, Krista and Matthew with her
husband of 23 years, Dan.

Public Servant
Marie works tirelessly to promote All of New London.
City Council November 2011-present. Chair of Public
Welfare as well as School Building & Maintenance
Committees, member Public Safety Committee, Liaison
to the Senior Affairs Commission, ACHIEVE, New
London Library, Citizens Advisory Committee, TVCCA,
Wheaton Estate Committee. Introduced in conjunction
with NLCCC the Tobacco Free Parks & Recreation Areas
Ordinance, which was passed unanimously. As Chair of
School Building & Maintenance she works closely with
the city finance department to assure the damaged roof
on Bennie Dover was replaced with State reimbursement.
She oversaw the construction of Nathan Hale Elementary
School and is personally watching the possible construction
of a new high school.
As President of the New London Irish Parade, Inc.
organized the largest single day event ever in downtown
New London. The 2012 parade was the largest in its’
history under her leadership.
Spearheaded the campaign for K9s Fundraiser and raised
nearly $5,000 for the New London Police Department K9
division.
As Secretary of the Economic Development Commission
she works diligently to encourage new businesses to come
to New London. She created the One Stop Shop Guide to
streamline the process for businesses looking to open shop
in New London.
As a former member of the Beautification Committee she
worked to create an charming and delightful appearance
for New London and its’ visitors.

Neighbor
Marie founded the Upper Elm Street Neighborhood
Group and was a former Secretary of the Neighborhood
Alliance. Quality of life for all New London residents is a
high priority for her. She knows that New London needs
to be clean, safe and affordable for it to flourish. She is a
graduate of the New London Citizen Police Academy. She
understands the difficulties in raising a family in today’s
tough economic times. She is the best choice for the
working family today.
